“To me, art is first a form of communication. The work is required - it is my voice. A day without making art is like having not spoken a word to anyone, all day, and it leaves me wanting. The elements of shape, form and color that I am intuitively drawn towards consistently surface as I work. When something is ‘done’ it is as if I have reached an almost indefinable moment that is the conclusion of a unique, self determined mission."
My art and design has been described as "elegant but not pretentious; liquid; flowing.” Perhaps what is noticed is my romance with line and negative space, since they are key to every work I do. When a piece “works” it is because the lines bring life to the piece and the negative space allow it to keep breathing. Everything else, though essential, ultimately takes a less significant role. Altogether, each piece is personal and a reflection of my own aesthetics and my particular point of view. I hope my work speaks to you, too.
